Snowmageddon and Spring

It's been the snowiest/iciest season in over 60 years in the Northwest.  School has been delayed or cancelled for over 90% of school days so far this winter.  As it stands the kids will attend school well into mid-June adding an extra two weeks to make up for all the snow days.  Travel over the mountains has been treacherous at times.  But that hasn't slowed me down from going and seeing my kids.  I love my kids.  Always will.

Brandon has started high school baseball workouts and feels he is doing very well.  He also had a band competition on Saturday.  He really enjoys playing his Trumpet.  Can't wait to see him in action this spring.
Bryson had an AAU league basketball game Saturday and did admirably.  He has really been working hard at improving.  He takes the basketball outside, even in this cold weather, every chance he gets to go dribble and shoot at the neighbors.  I still beat him and Maddy at PIG yesterday.  He has been working out all off season for baseball.  He is determined to improve his abilities by getting stronger, faster, and better with the glove.  I know his hard work will pay off.  I can't wait to watch him this Spring and Summer.  Both his tournament basketball and baseball team are under the Big River umbrella.  So, Go Big River!
Maddy also had an AAU league basketball game and she and her teammates showed significant improvement and won their first game.  She really seems to be enjoying basketball.  She had a beautiful pull up jumper during the game.  After the game she asked to go be with her best friend Cassidy Bonnington.  So we picked her up and went to the park, roller skating, then to get ice cream.  Suffices to say it was a great day!

Benjamin, my oldest is in California going to Bakersfield Community College.  I still can't believe I have one in college.  Feels like just yesterday I was trekking into the unknown world of post secondary education.  This is a time to work towards your future.
The snow appears to be melting and the sun has been out for two days so it seems that Spring is coming soon.  I can't wait to watch the kids play baseball and softball.  Tomorrow pitchers and catchers report for MLB spring training.  You can say it's my favorite time of the year.  :-)
