Catching up...yet again.

The last week has been a crazy one but productive. First we volunteered to help the Pasco Little League with picking up some donated sod (yes by hand and aching back) and transferring it to a new infield on field 2 at Boothe fields in Pasco. Pictures of the sod effort are posted here. Benjamin is in a few of them (7 & 10...and possibly others). Next, I got Benjamin and Brandon started on their hitting clinic with Lenny Ayers at the Batters Box in Kennewick. It's been neat to have the kids in a baseball clinic. It's one of those things I always wanted to do as a kid and never got the opportunity. It always seemed that the others would come back with skills that were difficult to compete against when I was in junior high and high school. Everything I offered was learned from the coaches or instincts. Mostly the latter to be honest. In any case, Lenny is a former San Fransisco Giant. This past Sunday was their second lesson and let me tell you, the guy was teaching these kids how to generate power in their swings. I call it the secrets of the pro's. Hopefully my boys will learn it instead of dismissing it. I'm so excited. I also learned that the league (www.pascoll.com) is going to start building indoor batting cages. They are trying to raise funds. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. For now if you go to their site and purchase some of the items for sale, 5% goes to the league. They also take direct donations. There's the plug. Now, back to my blog. Since then I've done a couple of other things. I took the boys golfing at Golf Land (par 3 course). That was so much fun. Well, not for Bryson who complained the entire time about not being able to golf. Dad...I only hit the ball 2 times!!! Over and over, and over, and...well you get it. Also I was able to get a bunch of honey do's done. Put in a new kitchen faucet, fixed the porch lights, sealed the foundation with foams, fixed the dryer by replacing a heating coil... and well I gotta run. Hey how about that...I finally got a weekend to do my stuff. My OH my. Oh...yeah! I almost forgot to talk about that fever I got... yeah...it's playoff season. How about them Tampa Bay Rays... :) I was going for the Dodgers and the Rays in the Series. I've always been a Dodger and Red Sox fan...after Mariners fan. But I just like the Rays. Ok...I really got 2 go....
