I took a bunch of pics of my trip using my iPhone to show all of my faithful readers. I thought...how cool would it be? So, here I have the stewardess going over the flight emergency procedures over the loudspeaker. I promptly put my seatbelt on! I always get so nervous when I am about to fly.

Next we're up in the sky and from my window seat I took a picture of the blue bridge and the columbia river. It looks so impressive from up there. At this point I pulled out a book and started reading...but wait. There's more!

Here we have the image that the passengers (including me) stare at during the entire flight. Can you believe it? I mean, they wouldn't put that there unless you really needed to remember this right? Do they want us freaking out during the flight? I mean holy smokes!!!

Then we landed in Salt Lake. From one puddle jumper to the next. I took a picture of the second plane I boarded. If you look close enough you can see that they have bugs on their windshield! Hey, I got some of those on my car too! I sure hope they clean those before I go in the air! HA! Both flights had the usual soft drinks and snack. I had diet and peanuts each time. Which reminds me...we were delayed in Salt Lake. Our puddle jumper had mechanical issues. With the rest room! Yeah, it wouldn't flush. So the captain informed us that we couldn't use the lavatory for anything. Good thing it was only an hour flight!

Ahh...here we have the ground finally. The first puddle jumper had a bumpy landing. But this one was smooth. Kudos to the pilot. If you look close enough to the picture, you can see that's a military helicopter there. Very cool looking. So here we are, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

So my coworker and I caught a cab at the airport to our hotel. The person that was supposed to pick us up decided to go to dinner instead. We had planned to hitch a ride with some of the other conference attendees. But instead we had to ride a cab. But that part was pretty boring. Next I have a pic of the Elephant Restaurant that we had dinner at. Someone my coworker knew met us at the hotel and went to dinner with us. I took a picture Sharon and Gary laughing and chatting. They obviously knew each other well and had quite a conversation going. After my angus burger with avocado on whole wheat, I left a bit early to try and get to sleep.

So here are a few pics of the hotel room that I'm staying in. I'm very impressed by the accomodations. It's a big suite. Kinda lonely if you ask me...but hey that's life. It's got a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom and a spacious lavatory area.

Finally, I wanted to let you know that I didn't get much sleep last night. For those of you that are married and have ever done this, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's so hard to get any sleep. But at least I got to watch some of the Olympics. So this morning I got up and walked about 1.25 miles to the meeting. Then walked about 1.5 miles at lunch. I had lunch at a nice deli in the mall area. McCormick's I think it was called. Then I walked over to the mother ship for some good old fashioned window shopping. Hmm..that 3G iphone is calling my name! Guess what? They have it in stock! Then after the meeting I walked another 1.25 miles back to the hotel. I'm so tired. I haven't walked that much in a long time. Hopefully it'll do me some good.

And last but not least, on my way home I walked by some humongous bumble bees! They were black and as big as my thumb! I couldn't believe it. There wasn't just one...there were quite a few of them. I got as close as I dared and held still for a while to take this picture. I hope you can appreciate it. Look for the black beetle looking things. They were definitely bumble bee's!

Wow Ben, hope your trip got better, I know what you mean about not sleeping...believe me it never gets better, I don't think I remember sleeping through a whole night, in a very long time anyway. So is it pretty hot there? I bet, it's been rainy here the past couple days...
