Boring...

As promised, here's a picture of my boys after practice tonight. Boring, that's how Benjamin described his football practice tonight. He's been saying that after every practice. It's been a week already. That's not quite what I was expecting from him. Hmm... I hate being a disgruntled parent. But hey, I have to admit that something isn't right here. Do I talk to the head guy or do I leave it be? It's his first year, I know, but he's not even sweating in 90 degree weather at football practice? With pads and a helmet! I have to do something about this. I want him to be challenged. I see the other coaches pushing the limits with the kids and the kids responding to it and coming away with a deer in the headlights look. They come back the next day hungry for more. Benjamin, not so much. He's bored. I hate being put in this kind of position, but I think I'm going to have to call the league director and request that he be changed to another team. I've been a baseball coach and I know exactly how it feels to lose a kid due to lack of interest or the child not liking the team (err...not being challenged). It's not the coaches fault. It's usually that the coach goes at the speed of the kids he has. So what's your opinion? Should I let Benjamin be bored then get crushed by the other teams? Or should I get him on a team where they will make him throw up at practice? I mean I wanted him to gain some toughness from football not get bored.
