Oye Primo!

Today, my wife brought me a subway sandwich to work. That was super nice. I was hungry and she was in town, so she offered to bring me lunch. Yummeee :) Well.. on my way outside the building, there was a fella working, digging a hole. With a small axe and a shovel. My guess is he was digging through roots. Yes my friends, he was on his hands and knees, digging a hole outside my office building. Now don't get the wrong idea, I'm not poking fun at him. But somewhere deep inside, I wanted to shout, "Orale primo! How's it going?" But I bit my tongue and walked on by taking a picture with my iPhone to share with everyone. It feels weird...because I was once there, and the only things that seperate us is an education, and the God given opportunity to work for a nice company. I'm thankful for what I have and I pray that God help this man and his family, whatever his case may be. Nonetheless, there are times when I wish I was doing what he is...albeit with the same pay I now have...or better. There's something to be said for working with your hands, getting dirty, and having a feeling of accomplishment!

Oh, and just for you Amy... "Los surcos estan chuecos!" ;)

Wow, Ben, a nice way to start my morning: a big smile on my face. Actually, now that I'm typing this I'm actually starting to cry. To be a kid again, what we thought were the worst days of our lives, are actually the moments we think of the most now that we are getting older. Wow. To think, our kids will never know what its like to work side by side with mom n' dad, day in, day out. And yes, I even remember having a dream where I actually got on my knees and started yelling to my mom "cambeame el surquo, este esta chuequo". LOL LOL....how often do u actually remember what you dreamed last night, let alone a dream you had 20+ years ago. Its always good to remember those time again and feel that warmth in your heart. I love you BEN....and I'm sorry for telling you back then to leave me alone because you talked too much....it must've been one of my moody days, LOL LOL LOL--not that u would've understood back then........
