Baseball Season

Well, we're right in the middle of baseball season. This is my favorite time of the year. The Mariners aren't doing so well, but that's ok because my boys are my world right now. Like I said in earlier posts, I've been really busy. The majority of my free time has been spent helping with the hard drive issues we've had and coaching baseball to my team and my boys.

Benjamin is at the age where they are finally pitching to eachother. It is such a different ballgame at this level. He's playing as a nine year old even though he turns ten on Thursday. He volunteered to pitch on a team filled with only 9 year olds. Their team has lost 3 games so far and won 6. This is against 9, 10, and 11 year olds. I'm amazed with my son's team and his improvement. I had a little to do with it...but the thanks should go to his coaches. He's on a team called the Henager-Black (that's the sponsor-a dentist) and one of the coaches nick named the team the root canals! Well we all thought it was funny. Benjamin has been starting at 3rd and at Pitcher. He's played a little shortstop as well. He's batted 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the order most of the year. So I'd say he's one of the better players on the team. His coach really likes him. I'm super proud of him. So I thought I'd share a few pictures of him pitching. Amy, my cousin emailed me some pictures of Isaiah and Shon at the state tournament this morning. Hopefully my sons follow in your footsteps guys! Starting this Thursday, Benjamin is playing on the Pasco Thunder on the 9 year old tournament team. Yes, he made his first tournament team. I'm so proud of him. I'll see about posting pictures.

Brandon is my 7 year old slugger. I am coaching Kania Clinic this pitching to him and he was hitting the ball with some authority. He's got one of the sweetest swings I've seen on a kid that age. year with Brandon, and Aaron (Rocky's son), and Draden (Danny & Marivit's boy). Brandon is throwing, catching, and hitting better than Benjamin ever did at his age. Last night I was Of course, I think I'm a little biased. But wow, I'm so proud of him. I'v had a great time coaching him and the entire team. It's so neat to be a part of their growth in baseball. It's been awesome coaching all the different personalities. I've got plenty of stories. So here are some pics of Benjamin and Brandon. Let me know what you guys think.

Oh, wow, BEN!!! Those are some awesome pictures. I LOVE them....my heart skipped a beat at the thought of Grandpa Chon watching them. I wonder what'd he'd say, LOL...actually, I think I know WHAT he would say, LOL LOL LOL...The semi-truck in the background kinda puts things in perspective. OUR background. WHERE we came from. We were talking to a coach from Puyallup (the team we lost to Saturday), (before the game started) and he told Eli "Our kids are good, but YOUR kids (mostly Hispanics) have the heart to go after it". In other words, from where OUR kids came from (field working parents, grandparents, great grandparents) To think.............aaaaaaaw, better stop before I get too emotional LOL. Anyways, it's all good. I LOVE BASEBALL....and you are right, I don't even care that the Mariners are doing bad, LOL.....I've got a better team to focus on. Matthew is also playing baseball. He's also pitching...(just turned 9) and has a good wind-up. Another "Lefty" pitcher. It's doesn't get better than that, LOL. It's so cute to watch him..He's way ahead of where Isaiah was at his age (sounds like your boys, huh) Isaiah didn't pitch till he was 12. I'll send u some pics. Love ya, Your cuz, AMY
