Spring Fever...

Today's topic is the weather. My oh my! It's almost spring. I can feel it in the air. The grass is beginning to turn, it's been raining and windy, but definitely warmer. Well and it's baseball season again. My favorite time of the year. It's during this time of the year that I dream of living in Arizona...Peoria to be exact. I've never been there before. But that's where the Mariner's spring training complex is. They play their first game on Friday. Anyhow...the weather. Well, what can I say? I have this wonderful thing called an iPhone...and sometimes I take pictures...well just to take pictures of the weather. My wife looks at me kind of funny sometimes. It's ok I tell her, just trust me. Still, she looks at me with this quizzical look. In any case, I took some pics in early January of the snow in this area.
This first picture is as bad as the roads got during the one bad snowfall day. Yes, I was driving as I took some of these pictures. So if they are a bit blurry, I'm sorry. The road was crazy icy on this day. Hmm...maybe that's why she was looking at me funny? LOL! This next one I took on I-90 on the way to Seattle two weeks ago. I couldn't believe the amount of snow on the sides of the Freeway. Are you kidding me? That's over 10FT! WOWZERS! I used to dream about digging ice caves when I was a kid. I thought it would be so cool! I bet a person could do that here! Oh man... did you hear about the guy that died in Othello a few weeks ago? He got plowed over by a snow plow! The driver is a relative of mine. We won't mention his name. It's kind of sad really. He just didn't see anyone. Well anyhow, I don't know why I brought that up.
The next photo I'm going to show is the most recent photo I've taken. We had a pretty major rain storm about a week ago here in Tri-Cities. The weather has been warmer and the nighttime temperatures have been so much nicer. After the storm, I was riding in the car with my friend Tim and I snapped this picture leaving Richland by Columbia Point. I couldn't believe the beautiful rainbow. I only shot half of it, but the whole thing was there! The whole rainbow. I could see every color defined. It was so cool. I definitely felt like a little kid staring at the rainbow. I usually don't think it's a big deal because we're so used to things around us these days being...normal. But, the rainbow is one of the most special things that God has given us. Here it is.. Genesis, Chapter 9, verses 12 through 16: 12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." Pretty awesome stuff if you ask me.
