Amor de mi vida...

Amor de mi vida...translated means the love of my life. Martha of course you are the love of my life. Right next to you of course is this young lady. WOW, she's growing up fast. I don't know where to begin. Madeline, when you were born, daddy was the happiest man in the world. Not because my family was completed. Not because I had a baby girl, but because God had blessed you with a healthy long life. For a while mommy and daddy were stunned by the news that you were not going to live. When we were told that mommy and daddy prayed hard that God's will would be done in your life. After that, God gave us a peace in our hearts like we had never felt before. Whether he took you to be with Him that day, or any day after that, we were determined to love you no matter what for as long as we had you. We were informed that Maddy had a possibility of getting Trisomy18 which can take a baby's life before they are born or right after they are born. The longest living Trisomy18 baby known to exist lived 10 days and then died. We were totally in God's hands. The chances that you wouldn't get it were 1 in 86. The odds were against us but who can be against us when God is for us? We prayed for God's will, not my will or mommy's will, but God's will. You are a truly a gift from God and we are blessed to be your mom and dad. That day that you were born, and I first held you in my arms, I knew you were special. You were perfectly healthy, beautiful, and you filled daddy's heart with joy. No offense boys, but Maddy owns daddy's heart. I love each of you with the love of a father and I always will. But I hope you boys can see that Maddy is a special sister that you have and that you can love her as such. I hope someday when mom and dad are not around that you can show her that she is the most special person in your life next to your own family. Every time I look into her eyes, I not only see God's love, but I remember God's miracle in our family. Don't get me wrong, each person in this family is very special. But a miracle from God always has a purpose and whether it was to prove that His will will be done, or whether he has a special goal for Madeline's life as she grows to work in His ministry, she is an example of how powerful and how awesome our God is. We are truly blessed. This picture was taken in the van the other day while you were trying on mom's glasses. "Look daddy, look at me!" Yes honey, you look amazing! I love you.
