Baseball is Life.

If I've used this title before, that's because it's true. Ok, it's not everything. You are right. But that's what it has been lately in the Garza household. It has been an interesting Spring. Bryson's tee-ball was awesome to watch this Spring. He's so excited about baseball, that it brings the joy back into it when it gets kind of crazy.
Coaching Brandon's team, the Basin Disposal, Inc "Eagles" (8 & 9 year olds) was lots of fun. I was able to meet a couple of new kids and teach some fundamentals. All in all, it was a great season. This year I had the following kids on my team: Jakob Bernard, Micah Truman, Anthony Liudahl, Michael Torres, Anthony Torres, Art Ruezga, Ziera Barrios, Colby Hanses, Tyler Zornes, Deven Clark, Cristian Saenz, & Ethan Garcia. Each one was a joy to have.
I helped coach Benjamin's team as well when I wasn't coaching Brandon or watching Bryson. The Griggs-ACE Hardware team. I got to know each of the kids on that team and see their talent first hand. This team had lots of fun together. Coach Bob Lozier kept it pretty loose. Athena Fox, Josh Rosenbaum, Dillon Extrom, Fabian Ledezma, Brock Lozier, Sam McCormick, Alex West, Zackary Zavaleta, Arthur Burroughs, Dustin Doss, and Brian Celis. One ten year old boy stood out besides my son Benjamin on that team. Josh Rosenbaum. I was very surprised he didn't make All-Stars. He is quite the baseball player. He really blossomed this year. Hopefully others take notice next year. The other that caught my eye was Dillon Extrom. He began pitching and hitting well at the end of the year.
So now that the Little League Season is over... oh wait. Wait just one dog gone second. It's not over. Benjamin was selected to represent Pasco in the District 10 year old All-Star tournament. It was exciting news indeed. My All-Star...I think I'll say that a little bit. I've very proud of him. The All-Star tournament is going to be hosted in Pasco the week of Fourth of July. July 3-12th. Go PASCO! And Go BENJAMIN #23!! :) They are playing in tune up tournaments the weekends leading up to the tournament. Hopefully they do well. This weekend we're in Selah. So if you're up that way, come see a game!

Another opportunity presented itself this summer. That is, I was asked to be an assistant coach for the 9 year old tournament team. I accepted as I'd be coaching with Bob Lozier (Ben's regular season coach) and Brandon would get an opportunity to play up this summer against some tough competition. So far it's been baseball every single day. I am coaching, and both of my boys are playing. Good times. God is so good!
