My how times have changed...
Above we have Benjamin and Jalayne not too long ago. I believe it was Labor Day of 2004. The first time Benjamin ever held a golf club in his hands. It was a trip watching him as Jalayne was a bit more experienced. They've both matured quite a bit as you'll see in these next couple of pictures. It's been really neat watching these kids grow in all aspects of life. I just bought Benjamin his very first instrument. A trumpet. Yes, we went out and bought him a used Trumpet. He knows how to play the piano, so he has some musical ear, we are sure of that. So now, in 5th grade, his first experience with band. Amazing how they grow up soooo fast. Anyhow, I am a bit ashamed as I haven't taken Benjamin out golfing much this year (at all), and as a result he didn't do too well at the annual Labor Day tourament that we go to. But the great thing is, he is learning to lose with grace. That's one thing I have always had trouble with. We all hate losing, but it's going to happen more often than not. It's what we do after losing that affects those around us and ourselves. So I'm trying to teach him to "work hard". If he wants to get better, it isn't going to present itself to him magically. He needs to work hard to achieve his goals and win. He loves golf, baseball, music and computers. It's kind of neat from where I'm sitting. :) Here's some pics from Labor Day...this year.
