11 Years...

I can't believe it has been eleven years. Eleven years since the day I married my wife. 11 years ago I made promises that I have kept until today. Most people say things to eachother because the day is a day of love and remembering those that you love. Well we decided to make it extra special so long ago and truly make it our personal day of reflection. Well I'm still glad we did! Glad...yep, I still remember your answer when I knelt down in that ICY cold ocean beach...barefoot and asked you to be my wife. I will never forget it, or when I asked you to be my girlfriend on the bridge at riverfront park... Special moments I'll never ever forget. Through thick and thin, in sickness and in health, through it all, we're still very much in love. Eleven years and four wonderful children later I want to tell you that I can't live without you. I can't bear to think of what my life would be like without you. Martha you are my world. I hope you understand why I cherish each moment I spend with you. I'm still a goof every time I'm near you and it's ok with you...well most of the time. You still are the object of my affection after all these years. And you always will be. I found this poem and thought it would be appropriate:

When years are passing by like days,
and in my hand your hand is placed,
a knowing smile crosses your face,
a simple touch can still make my heart race.

When I can see my soul in your eyes,
and you see your soul in mine we realize,
that a love so deep can harbor no lies,
where our only tears shed were happy tears we've cried.

I love you as much now as I ever did before,
if possible, I may even love you more,
all starting from a feeling we did not ignore,
a feeling of connection we chose to explore.

I don't know what it is that you saw in me,
what I saw in you was the utmost happiness
that can ever be,
even more so on the day when you and I
became "We",
I can still smile and say with love and
truth Honey, I love you...Happy Anniversary.
